The Land of White Elephant

Day 1 (21 Dec'08). Shoppaholic at work.

Still figuring out, whether should I do a day to day blog on Ayutthaya or one entry... Hemmmm… since I did have much enquiries from collie and friends; perhaps by day so that it helps you folks to plan your itinerary better. This time am traveling with my darling sister Fatin, she has been my travel buddies (on my account, till she get herself a job BUT finish Uni first lar) for Asian region (since am paying for 2 pax ler kan).

OK! Let’s start our story, morning glory!

We arrived at Best Western Hotel during mid day (took the first flight out), hotel was choosen as it is near the Skytrain station as well as it is near PRATUNAM!!!! I know this will be simply HEAVEN for my sis – a shopaholic! We know it’s rather secluded base from the google map/earth that we did, but to our amazement (lucky for us too!); this hotel is only half a year old THUS the facilities and condition of the room is GREAT! I mean, it have a 32’ plasma – TOP THAT! Just to proof our statement…ehehhe… we snap few pics for everyone to see. I mean…. After all… seeing is believing they said, right?!

We then proceed to Chatuchak Market, unfortunately we didn’t take any pics…rambang mata ler… It is mentioned in links that Chatuchak Market covering 70 rai (35 acres) of land with over 15,000 stalls and more than 200,000 visitors every Saturday and Sunday, Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok is the mother of all markets - and possibly one of the biggest and most famous markets in the world.

Size does matter huh!

It’s not easy to find Halal food in Bangkok, I know! I know! There’s links and sites saying where and how to get it or there, BUT THE THING is that, it is not convenience in terms of location. And don’t bother asking us to take a cab, Bangkok JAM is a story on it’s own man! We settle with which ever halal restaurant we find or just eat Maggie back in the hotel lar… apa susah!

We reached Bangkok city in the evening, took a walk around town and decided to rest as we have a long day awaiting for us tomorrow.

Journey from Hualamphong station.
