I’ve heard of Dessert Table, often placed at birthday parties,
weddings and any kind of celebration but Sweet Table?!? Hemmm…. My curiosity
got the best in me. To top it off, it is by Dato’ Fazly Yaakob, the singer,
actor and now celebrity chef.
Not sure of what to expect, I head to SukaSucre located in Wisma RYU
in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. White base décor with a touch of earth tones welcomes
guest from all walks of life, from toddler to food connoisseur, all came to
sample the food and see for themselves the Sweet Table art by his truly. And so
did us.
We were prep that it is themed as ‘From Rembau to Paris’, ‘dimana
Rembanya dan dimana Paris nya’ was the first thing that came to my mind (and I
bet to all those attended as well).
‘Rembau’ basically reflected in the banana fritters, banana snack
(cokodok pisang) palm sugar and ice cream stick (ais krim potong); local
delicacy (Dato’ Fazly Yaakob’s hometown to be precise) and ‘Paris’ are
macaroons, caramel, chocolate, red velvet and etc. And the concept was similar
to shell-out, eating with bare hand (make sure it is clean first lah).
Some of the unique menu available are Pasta Daging Lerai Ala
Cendawan Kukur, Pasta Daging Salai Lemak Cili Api, Kerabu French Toast, Butterscotch
Latte, Corn Teh Tarik dan Green Tea Honey. I have to admit I fell in love with
Corn Teh Tarik.
