Travel Thursday | Burden

In Malay there's a saying

Berat mata memandang
Berat lagi bahu memikul

Which means...

Hard for the eyes to see
Harder for the shoulders that carry

Kind of make you see things in a different light and manner, what people have do to earn a living.....

Ensuring food on the plate
Clothes over the shoulder
Roof over the head

Counting my blessing.

Thank you god.

More on my India trip here.

  1. Oh, so true! We should be sooooo grateful for all the luxury we're adjusted to and remember that most of mankind isn't that lucky. Have a happy, adventurous day Lily!

  5. You've given us a very thought-provoking post. 'Burden' is a perfect title for this photo. I don't know how they managed to get the wagon so loaded.

  6. Great words of wisdom that I like a lot. I'm just hoping that the tractor doesn't tip over before it gets to it's destination &... I'm pleased I'm not driving my car behind it.

  14. travelling do provide me with an insight of how people in that country live besides visiting the touristy places. It's make me grateful for what I have. I disagree when other people thinks that travelling is for pure fun and wasting money. Big NAY!!!
