Travelholic + Bookworm = Travelworm

I have weird quirks, books!!!
Not just any book, but travel book. Don't, I repeat DO NOT take me to a bookshop, I will get all over excited! Like little kids going to toyshop. Sooo, what happen nowadays, I stop going into one, very very dangerous for me, suicidal to my wallet. And once I start ogling, I start googling, and once I start googling, I start buying (tix). Argh..... its a vicious cycle for me!

Is there a traveholic rehab or something?
I need serious help.

Loads and loads of DK travel, my favourite! Cause pic & text are of same quantity, pics look good; I shall go!

Yup! That easy to persuade me to travel, pretty much a sucker for nice pics. Oh! I would buy despite I don't travel to that particular country that soon, crazy huh! I don't mind ogling at the pics.

DK don't have book on South Korea.... arghh.... spoiler for my collection.

Yup! Plenty plenty travelbook! And this is NOT my only travel book.

Oh! Just in case you think that I am a lunatic, I DO read other books okay; REALLY. This is my favourite comic as of now, well.... I like Calvin & Hobbes as well but somehow I have softspot for cute farnie children book.

Don't you just love Zoe... ehhehe... This happens to me soooo often.

Occasionally, I do like to buy and browse thru dainty craft book, but to execute them? Nahhh....

Now.... the type of books I read (yet to) versus my sis.... I let you be the judge.

And this is my random books and half yet to even START! Arghh.... When will I be like Manglish! (Envy mode)

Obviously my sis's collection is very much different from mine, you can just sense the AGE GAP!!!!

I thought this was sweet.... Aww....

Typical scenario with sibling huh!

Travel Thursday | Burden

In Malay there's a saying

Berat mata memandang
Berat lagi bahu memikul

Which means...

Hard for the eyes to see
Harder for the shoulders that carry

Kind of make you see things in a different light and manner, what people have do to earn a living.....

Ensuring food on the plate
Clothes over the shoulder
Roof over the head

Counting my blessing.

Thank you god.

Vain-glorious S(e)oul

Us being silly as usual and this time even David joined in the fun! You know what they say "If you can't beat them, join them!" And it works!

The tour guide was being nice and doing his job by telling us the history of Korea while we were inside the National Folk Museum of Korea. After 10-15 mins, Angie and me got slightly bored with the history and stuff.

Thus we decided to wander to the next showcase instead, and goodness knows why; Angie decided to play tour guide to me by explaining the history base on the visual and the caption displayed and some other weird info she concocted. And I ( the silly MOI!) follow her act and start "asking valid historical" question on Korea and of cause she explained it beautifully even though there's no fact and she was cooking it up. We thought it was kinda funny and cute. So we decided to continue to the next showcase.....

... by now, few other caucasian tourist followed US!!! (ie Angie & I) as we continue our RUBBISH history telling! Oh no! They start asking her question (taking after my lead), thinking she was the museum tour guide. HAHHAHAHAHH...... half way thru we felt guilty and told them that we were tourist as well, we were just fooling around. They actually commented we were pretty good! HAHAHAHHA... THANK YOU!

Spot who is human and who is not?

A decent pic of me doing the standard "peace" sign, hemm... ever wonder why everyone do that when taking a pic. Perhaps I should google this, hemm...

Err.... I have it all in black&white (and colours too), David hates Anna and kicking her has always been in his mind. Blackmail time!!! Hahaha.... (And I did nothing to help poor Anna, OPS!)

This is what I meant by vain-glorious or in Malay language we call it PERASAN! Yo-yo-on! Konon konon! Drama! Hahhahah.... My friends who see this pic also said > BEI-TAHAN

It's part of the attraction, Yup! Even World Cup Stadium is part of the sightseeing site.

We went to this place where I forgot the name, Biqque help!!!

What is a trip to Seoul within visiting the famous Lotte World right?

But instead we got "held up" in Korea. Hahhahah...

Horsing Around Big Time!

AH-HAH! What were you thinking?!??! Hheheheh....

OK, since we were on the topic of safaries (Well, at least I am or was). I remembered when I visited Singapore Zoo few years back (I love Zoooooosssss, I don't know why), they have this section introducing maybe more like a petting zoo for kids on horse, donkeys, mules and stuff (one section of it). The thing is, since I was there with Maimon and family, we linger longer here and I decided to do some "self-educating" time. Despite that I love zoo, I don't bother much on learning about animals (WEIRD! I know!).

So, what I am getting at is...

What's the difference between mules, hinny, donkeys, burros, and jackasses etc?

Well, I certainly don't know... back then. Now? Abit... but kept on confusing myself! I decided to put this on blog and give myself a recap and 101 tutorial to all (Noble huh! Perasan!). Of cause, those who have more and further info, please share!

Colour coded to add the fun element.

DONKEY / ASS : A male donkey or ass is called a jack, a female a jenny, and offspring less than one year old, a foal (male: colt, female filly). The ass is wild and the donkey is domesticated.

Donkey/Ass

BURROS : Small donkey is sometimes called a burro (from the Spanish word for the animal).

Got it? OK, let's continue.

MULE : Offspring of a male donkey (jack) and a female horse (mare). All male mules and most female mules are infertile.

Mule

HINNY : Domestic equine hybrid that is the offspring of a male horse and a female donkey (called a jenny).

Hinny

Now, I thought I add weirder stuff (I got this from Wikipedia).

ZEBROID : Zebroid is the generic name for all zebra hybrids (also zebra mule and zebrule) is the offspring of any cross between a male zebra and any other equine: essentially, a zebra hybrid.

DONKRA : Offspring of a male donkey and female zebra, called a zebra hinny, or donkra, do exist but are rare.

See whether you confused yourself by now.

QUAGGA : It was distinguished from other zebras by having the usual vivid marks on the front part of the body only. In the mid-section, the stripes faded and the dark, inter-stripe spaces became wider, and the rear parts were a plain brown.

Quagga

ZORSE : Offspring of a male zebra and a female horse. This cross is also called a zebrula, zebrule, zebra mule or golden zebra. Like most other animal hybrids, the zorse is sterile.

Zorse

Last one, am getting headache now...

HORBRA: Offspring of a male horse and a female zebra (The rarer reverse pairing) is also sometimes called a hebra, zebrinny or zebret.

Hahhahah.... Do you like you hybrid lesson so far?

Can you tell the difference? I can't.

P/S : Bananaz, your creativity needed. Hhehehe...

Winter Everland in Korea

3rd Day in Korea was kinda fun, we were shoooshed to Everland, I think it is located somewhere hilly or at least that's what I felt then (if it's not, then I am on denial mode. Hehhehe....).

As usual, Anna & I fooling around which kinda happened most of the time in most (all) of our trips. Most of the park inside was closed during winter, the ride, park and stuff however the winter side which have the toboggan slide/ride was available - YEAY! Finally I get to try. Anyway, we got to know that certain section close for certain season. Hemm..... interesting fact. But I guess it was still ok, as we were focusing more on the winter activities park then the rest.

So, here's the thing, Angie kept saying (Yeah! She was here the year before) we MUST MUST MUST (note the capital letters) go for the Safari ride... to see a special breed... we were going "HUH??!??! Well, okaaaaayyyy....."

Liger.... you heard me! It's a cross between a male lion and a tigress. Thus, it has parents with the same genus but of different species. (Excerpt Wiki) I heard ligers are fierce hence they were "caged" in the open.

Then, of cause there's the tiglon (You can't have one without the other right!??!) - a hybrid cross between a male tiger and a lioness. Similar as liger, it has parents with the same genus but of different species (Seriously, am clueless of what it meant! HELP!). The tiglon is not currently as common as the converse hybrid, the liger; however, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, tiglons were more common than ligers. (From Wiki as well, this doesn't look like it can come out from my brain huh! Hahhaha...). But tiglon was not in Everland then (Now? Who knows, you tell me).

I recalled Angie saying that the tram have a tiger face in front and we need to plan well so that we can take a pic in front of it (We were not suppose to stall or linger around after disembarking). We execute our exit plan and act on it promptly, the result? THE above pic lar (with everyone staring at us - as usual "pandemonium" occurred during this time [With us around??! But of cause!]). Hahhahah...

We felt that the tour guide have hots for Erica, and she was trying hard to "escape" form him. Hhahahha..... But of cause we INSISTED dear Erica to ride with him in the cable car. Aww..... "sweet". Hehehehhee....

Yeah yeah! I owned them! Feel "free" to shop here (But I will deny EVERYTHING! Hehheheh.....)

Aside from the Everland Park, we were taken to this lake to see limestone formation, can't remember much except it was a VERY COLD boat ride and that the mobile toilet was SUPER DUPER YUCKY!!!!! - that's all I can remember. We had to hold our breath and do what we had to do in a jiffy or perhaps NANOJIFFY or perhaps.... (you get the drift). Gosh! I should have taken a pic to proof it. This was followed by a cave exploration, well.... not much of an exploration, but it was fun to see the stalactite and stalagmite. Am not big on cave and enclosed area.

Last but not least, pic inside the cave - read the signage.

Hehhehehhe..... cute huh!

Watery & Outdoor Wednesday | Hold

Sometimes I wish I had no pride
I'd go off and sell my soul
But how do you say goodbye

To the only truth you've known

Hey, that's okay-come on around and get yourself together

Won't you come on around and hold an old friend's hand
Babe, baby I promise not to throw you

You don't have to stay, I just want to hold you

Won't you come on around
and hold an old friend's hand

~ This pic reminded me of Tiffany' song Hold An Old Friend’s Hand, love the lyric ~
