Travel Event | Tourism Pahang Blogger Event

Recently I was invited by Pahang Tourism to attend a Tourism Pahang Blogger colloquium. Having doing marketing for many years, I was truly excited of this invitation as it gives me a chance to see, hear and learn how this other side think, work and execute. This will give me a balance feel of being the organizer as well as attendees and apply the best of both world in passion - traveling & blogging.

Us #MalaysiaTravelBlogger (Noremila, Yafielda, Jard and Rayyan) depart KL at mid day and arrives Kuantan on time just before the evnt kick-off at 3pm. Dato’ Shafik Fauzan bin Shariff, the Pahang State Minister for Tourism Malaysia welcomes us with an open arm offering Pahang's best hospitality. Fraser’s Hill Development Corporation (Perbadanan Kemajuan Bukit Fraser – PKBF) manages Pahang Tourism activities

Dato’ Shafik enlightens us on how Tourism Pahang is now focusing not only on traditional media but also on Social Media (SoMe) as the current trend where mobility and information are at finger tip come to play. Wanting to be abreast with technology, Pahang Tourism is now opening its door to bloggers as their new target broadcaster. Pahang Tourism sees the need to branch out; and with us from #MalaysiaTravelBlogger they are able to cast a wider net; thus touching directly to end-users - travelers, tourist, adventure-seeker and naturist. Having said that, Dato’ Shafik is humbled to any recommendation by us from #MalaysiaTravelBlogger to further help improve Pahang Tourism. Knowing that bloggers can be their extended SoMe arm with other communication coverage such as twitter, facebook, instagram etc aside from blog.

We were fortunate to be the first few with the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Tourism Pahang new and revamped website shared by the CEO of Secretlab.Media, Mohd Khairul Azizi Mohd Razali. Recognizing the importance of SoMe he consolidated and integrated SoMe buttons - make sharing easy. Tourism Pahang site has definitely improved with its revamped website made by Mohd Khairul Azizi, now with us bloggers; they hope it can improve further. However, the site is still under final construction and will be released soon.

We were delighted to share our experiences participating in media/blogger events and state tourism activities which we hope that Pahang Tourism will be able to emulate thus garnering favourable visibility for tourism in Pahang.

Aside, Tourism Pahang also brought Azwan and Fatin Suhana as a guest speaker to share some blog successes and SoMe ethics. Very enlightening indeed.

Being a state that have the best of both world - land & sea, I am ceratinly looking forward to some snorkeling, diving, hiking, nature walk and caving soon.

Pahang. A trully complete tropical experience.

Event | Around The World In 3 Hours - Invite (Part 1)

Our "stamps"

My auntie moved back to her old house about 1 month ago which means her big lawn is available again for family activities. So, my nieces suggested we should have a family party and I willingly offered my birthday to be the 'excuse' (memang excuse nak attention). My cousin came out with the idea of using my traveling hobby/passion as the theme, and we came out with - Around The World In 3 Hours.

My auntie suggested that we should do kenduri sambut puasa & kuliah agama on the same day after Isyak; killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Well, this is even better right!

My nieces helped with writing/pasting the stamps on the invite (deligation!).

My nieces and I start working on the invites, list and decor ideas immediately. My main job would be preparing the games and cousin's scope would be the food (her passion).

Attire : Shirt representing a country (macam #travelholicawesome USS trip lak)

The ready card, "by hand" delivery (teringat Icam).

So far we nailed down the food which suppose to represent country of origin (keeping it simple, light & easy of course). Below are the tentative food list, it is still fluid at this point of time.

Main course
  • Malaysia - Nasi Lemak bungkus (note the 'bungkus', classic tak?!?!)
  • Indonesia - Gado-Gado

Finger food (with little country flag on it)
  • America - Hotdogs
  • Mexico - Chips & salsa sauce
  • China - Dim Sum

Hemmm... weird combo, I know. Kinda ran out of ideas as I got tied up with work this past 2 weeks. So, if you guys have any brilliant idea(s) on games/food/decor or anything, drop me a comment yah. I will forever be grateful.

#Selangorlicious2 Launch Event - 13June2012

I attended #Selangorlicious2 Launch Event @ Paradox Art Cafe in Bandar Utama, Selangor (where else lar kan) yesterday. Honestly speaking, I have never browse thru #Selangorlicious website until recently, I have to say that I am impress and amaze on the content, baring in mind that I am not much of a foodie despite knowing few yummeh places in town (really few lar...).

Will browsing, I paid attention to the little details in #Selangorlicious site (being a marketing person myself); the theme was good for one - Selangorlicious, The Best Of Malaysian Cuisine In One State. They didn't stop here, they encourage contributors to share eateries, foods, drinks and to write or blog about them. Reminded me of this quote " Of the people, by the people, for the people"... ceh wahh.... Like real only.

The home page itself stated clearly :
  • Share your taste discoveries and win prizes worth up to RM 12,000
  • See what’s good to eat and drink around Selangor
  • Calling all writers, bloggers and photographers
Their listing was comprehensive and do expect more to come after the launch of #Selangorlicious2 yesterday, bet everyone can't wait to see new submissions and outlets around Selangor waiting to be tried and reviewed... yummeh babeh.

As I was writing this, I realised I don't have the press release (macam lah kite lak yang media nye) for me to include some of the points/objectives shared during the presentation. Once it is being picked up by media, I will revise and include it into my blog.

One point caught me was that they took this opportunity to announce a campaign targeting to not only blogger but to non-blogger as well. Detail as below.
