Problems with my SoMe Apps

Been wanting to write about this since before Ramadhan and even during Ramadhan but was plain lazy (hahhahah.....). While fiddling with my Instagram last night and seeing one of the the person I followed complained of being copied/imitated, thus I feel I should write a short entry on this.

Few weeks ago I was informed by Dan Arif that my blog was copied (I shall not share his link as it will spike his traffic...duh) word for word and pic for pic!!! At first I was upset; like super upset. I went to great length and reporting this 'big issue' to blogspot, google and facebooked it. Despite the fact that 'imitation is a form of flaterry' (iya ler tuh...!!), it does annoyed me. But after dwelling on it, I gave up. Whatever lar monyet....

Then I realised, with all the SoMe Apps around, we will bound to be/get copied, imitated or even spammed. Right? Kan kan kan?!?!?

My blog was definitely spammed many times and my twitter obviously countless of time, I kept clicking 'report spam' but since they work on auto random mode, it's pretty useless too. My Instagram not so bad though... so far... and Pinterest is the cleanest of all (so far, TOO).

Come to think of it, aside from SoMe, I received junk mail in my hotmail almost by daily (apparently someone left me $$$$ from everywhere in the world, yeah right!! and I won a bunch of lottery tickets that I can't recall purchsing). AND, even my office mailbox (supposedly with high security features) is also spammed by junk mails (boy! they are good heh!). Ada terasa popular jugak di sini kan kan kan... orang dok nak anto email bertubi-tubi. Ish! Bangga tuh! Hahhahahah....

Yesterday, while fiddling with my new twitter apps, I have have wiped off some twit data (pandai sangat ler tuh Lily! To my defence, it's NEW; abit blur lar kan).... 2nd time this month, previously was my whole contact list now this.

Below are some samples of spammer I experienced/saw.

PS : The last few weeks I have been asking for addresses & contact # from colleagues, friends, relatives and fellow bloggers. Many apologies on this. (For those I didn't ask means it was saved in another directory, phew!).

PPS : If by any chance you got spammed by me as it is auto generated (I might have clicked it by accident). Many many apologies yah.

Note the 'i' in Disney. Hehheheh....

This is the one that sparks my interest to write this entry.

My own blog spam list.

Since I don't know how to add those cute little 'add me' Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest icon. I figure, I should just list my SoMe IDs down here.

Instagram ID : lilyriani

Teaser | Eid Fitr, Santorini Park, Swiss Sheep Farm and more

Salam Eid Fitr
Maaf Zahir & Batin

Muslim in Malaysia celebrated Eid Fitr last week and as usual, food was at abundance at our home with all the rendang, lemang, ketupat and raya cookies. The diet exercised during fasting month was gone (for some; it was gone the minute we had our first iftar, hahahhahah...). All gained back within the 1st 3 days of raya (and some said during the 1st day itself).

For me, we celebrated in a small scale especially after my late dad passed away, after solat raya and relaxing for an hour or so at home, we all headed to Mummy & Tina's (aunt & cousin) house as usual. And yeay! Mummy & Tina have moved to their new-old-house. Cantek, SUKA!!!

Abby and Tina, 2 of my closest cousins. Actually semua close... heehheheh... But ini yang sangat pandai masak and bake.

Raya-ed at Kak Za's house in Kajang last weekend. As usual, few troops attacked her house (pre-informed of cause, we all tak ler sekejam tuh, Hahhahha....). She served non-raya food ie white rice, dendeng and... the rest am not so bothered (janji ada dendeng!).

Kids these days are so into SoMe. Nih exchanging SoMe account or game ler nih.

On 3rd raya, sis & I went Santorini Park (yeah! I tweeted & blogged on this earlier), reason being my sis have been working non-stop and she needed a break out of country (memang banyak songeh, maka travel ler dua beradik nih).

We also visited Swiss Sheep Farm... the weather is super HOT till I got bad sunburn, it was summer all year round *wink*.

Wow! I went to Greece & Switzerland. NOT!

This places are in Thailand. YUP! Kid you not!
I will share more details in next few entry (after I finishes my Sri Lanka and whatever that is pending. Hehhehehe.....)

We also visited The Maruekatayawan Palace located nearby the 2 parks (above), quaint beautiful palace.... I wish it was mine! Well, I need a Thai prince first....sigh... nampaknye idak ler kan.

Not to forget, also visited the most 'olskool' train station in Thailand. Love this place like crazy!

Quiet Period & Planned Trips | August - November 2012

Been quiet for awhile, with all the re-org, observing Ramadhan and family stuff. As we approach Eid Fitr, my overall schedule is being altered again, a positive note.

Re-org was major as now I need to handle the whole enterprise business (previously managed by more people obviously). Anyway, life still goes on... no point of whining or dwelling over this matter, just need to embrace it.

Ramadhan have been good to me (very good in fact, am blessed).

Family stuff, hemmm... perhaps this I shall keep it to myself (unless you are my closest friend, no way you will know until after the fact. Haahahahah....). Pray hard god be with us and assist us all the way. Insyaallah. Amin.

On personal note....

I have indicated that this year is going to be a Cuti-Cuti Malaysia year for me, didn't cover as much as I wish but I am pleased with myself nevertheless as I did visit places of interest that I have never been or known.

Thanks to Biqque for showing us Taiping and charcoal factory and mee udang (prawn noodle), Maszuber for Kuala Kangsar where I tasted the most yummeh laksa and not forgetting the most beautiful mosque ever, Masmz on muruku/keropok wholesaler in Ipoh.

Dan reminded me that I missed out ATV at Kemensah under #TourismSelangor on their #TSDayOut (betul ke hashtag nih?), I was worried I couldnt blend in at first, thankfully Dan/Adam/Byya/Jard joined, didn't feel so left out. Kudos to Dian for being the mastermind else I would have never tried. Toughest ATV ride so far for me. Noted that Byya fell off the ATV but luckily she got 2 bodyguard to rescue her (Adam/Dan).
Also Maszuber on fantastic Redang trip, Jard/Fie/Rayyan/Emila on Kuantan trip... very enlightening indeed. I even attended #Selangorlicios 2 launch with Byya/Farah/Jard/Dan. Finally get to know how it feels to be on the other side (normally I am the organizer for press activities; siap my PR co kene drill lepas tuh. Hahhah...). Ops! And the dinner at PNG Darby Park, thanks to Jard!

Dah macam thank you speech lak... hahhahah....

All in all, am happy...

Now for my next trip, hemmm... August till November will be tight for me on trips and work.

In August, I will be revisiting Santorini, maybe drop by Holland, Switzertland and Italy as well *wink* starting next week (yeah, I will be traveling on 3rd Raya with sis).

Kuala Terengganu trip will be in early September with Wahidah & Kim, ABA will be joining too (kan kan kan ABA!?!). Then I have to reccee Johor... and drop by Singapore (hopefully).

And also a Pahang trip (praying I will stop over Temerloh for masak lemak tempoyak ikan patin) with Wahidah... and possibly my nieces (still trying to fit into schedule).

October will be the 4x4 off road adventure and BSN Night Run (I think, kinda forgotten the date & month - 20th October [Wahidah smsed me the date]).

November will be Bangkok trip with fellow Girl Guides! So far...

AndI just got a tweet from Wahidah that in November; if we were to take 3 days AL, we will be 'awarded' with total of 9 days leaves. Hemm.... tempting. But need to save it for next year trip. Sigh...

That's about it, I will try to blog this weekend... else it will be after my trip.

Till then, Salam Ramadhan Al Mubarak & have a blessed Eid-ul Fitr.

Boyeiiii....

Cambodia - The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek & Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum

During my Kembara Prihatin trip to Cambodia, we were give 1 day to tour around Phnom Penh. We were taken to few key attractions of Phnom Penh and I have to say, it was eerie. At first I don't even want to join them (was thinking of accompanying my aunt and her friend to purchase some goods for the Muslim Floating Village but my aunt said since I enjoy historical places, I should go). OK lah.... I go lor...

Please understand, when it comes to places like this; I AM VERY scared (listening to surah Yasin memanjang). Why?

The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek

From Wikipedia
The Killing Fields
The Killing Fields are a number of sites in Cambodia where large numbers of people were killed and buried by the Khmer Rouge regime, during its rule of the country from 1975 to 1979, immediately after the end of the Cambodian Civil War (1970-1975).

Analysis of 20,000 mass grave sites by the DC-Cam Mapping Program and Yale University indicate at least 1,386,734 victims.[1][2] Estimates of the total number of deaths resulting from Khmer Rouge policies, including disease and starvation, range from 1.7 to 2.5 million out of a population of around 8 million. In 1979, communist Vietnam invaded Democratic Kampuchea and toppled the Khmer Rouge regime.
The Genocide
The Khmer Rouge regime arrested and eventually executed almost everyone suspected of connections with the former government or with foreign governments, as well as professionals and intellectuals. Ethnic Vietnamese, ethnic Thai, ethnic Chinese, ethnic Chams (Muslim Cambodians), Cambodian Christians, and the Buddhist monkhood were the demographic targets of persecution. As a result, Pol Pot is sometimes described as "the Hitler of Cambodia" and "a genocidal tyrant." Martin Shaw described the Cambodian genocide as "the purest genocide of the Cold War era.

This was the uncle and auntie that 'took care' of me during the tour, my aunt 'titip' me to them..... they were such a darling, insisting to pay everything even after I said "Uncle, Lily ada duit bayar, it's only USD3". Was so touch.... if uncle & auntie's kids happen to read this. Your parents rocks!!!! The bestest!

PS : They are funny too, I kept laughing listening to them both.

I saw this in few websites, apparently all the skulls & bones of  victims killed by Khmer Rouge soldiers are stored inside. Memang tak masuk ler.... lalu sipi sipi jek.

This picture was zoomed, I wouldn't dare to even step foot at the corridor.

From Wikipedia

In some cases the children and infants of adult victims were killed by having their heads bashed against the trunks of Chankiri trees. The rationale was "to stop them growing up and taking revenge for their parents' deaths."

*Speechless......*

This was once the mass grave.

Uncle being a tour guide.... kelakar giler, all aunties taking his pic lak tuh. Cute kan.

From Wikipedia

Pol Pot (19 May 1925 – 15 April 1998), born Saloth Sar (Khmer: ប៉ុល ពត), was a Cambodian Maoist revolutionary who led the Khmer Rouge from 1963 until his death in 1998. From 1963 to 1981, he served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kampuchea. From 1976 to 1979, he also served as the prime minister of Democratic Kampuchea. Pol Pot became leader of Cambodia on April 17, 1975. During his time in power he imposed agrarian socialism, forcing urban dwellers to relocate to the countryside to work in collective farms and forced labor projects. The combined effects of forced labor, malnutrition, poor medical care, and executions resulted in the deaths of approximately 21% of the Cambodian population. In all, an estimated 1.7 to 2.5 million people (out of a population of slightly over 8 million) died as a result of the policies of his three-year premiership.

Apologies in advance for appending all Wikipedia links, reason being the history is too long for me to even pen it down, best way is to read and visit the place - honestly. You can still feel the pain and suffering if the people of Cambodia.
For those who is doing any DIY trip, you can either charter the tuk-tuk (its a fair distance from town to Killing Fields) or hop to the next available tuk-tuk outside.

Next place is equivalently eerie....
From Wikipedia

The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (Khmer: សារមន្ទីរឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មប្រល័យពូជសាសន៍ទួលស្លែង) is a museum in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The site is a former high school which was used as the notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge communist regime from its rise to power in 1975 to its fall in 1979. Tuol Sleng (Khmer [tuəl slaeŋ]) means "Hill of the Poisonous Trees" or "Strychnine Hill".

From 1975 to 1979, an estimated 17,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng (some estimates suggest a number as high as 20,000, although the real number is unknown). At any one time, the prison held between 1,000–1,500 prisoners. They were repeatedly tortured and coerced into naming family members and close associates, who were in turn arrested, tortured and killed.

Scary huh!
YES!!! Another one to my list.

This is how the whole place looks like.... bila masuk memang tak sedap hati. I don't even dare to go up to other floors.

Next was more fun & leisure then scary & eerie. Hehehhehe..... we took a boat trip (OK! I was still scared, me no like water remember, and no life jacket lak tuh).

Now, after seeing this, scary right? Right? Right?

The cruise was pleasent, however the weather was cloudy. Pictures didnt turn out good (not that it was any good to begin with pun).

#lilyriani Bird Day - Excalibur Cake | 2012

Am doing a little housekeeping on my phone and realised I have this few pics and a video, didn't even know Jeff took a video of this (all this while I thought it was all pics).

Anyway, before I delete them pics, I thought I should capture this memory in my blog...

They asked me what I wanted to have for my bird day lunch (their treat), I said roti canai! Seriously.... they were like, that's it....???

Yeah! I feel like eating roti canai that day (am a simple person... sungguh tak creative kan), then I said "Fine! Roti canai and Baskin Robbins ok?" Of course to their liking as this folks are die-hard BR fan (and HD too). Oh yah! We have a BR gang in the office where we do BR outing every 31st of the month. Hahhahhaha.....

I settled for single scoop or something shared with Geok Lan but they insisted there should be a bird day cake... apa-apa lar monyet, korang yang bayar.

The cake was very hard (macam batu ok!)... I bet taking Excalibur out was an easier task than this. ARTHUR!!!!!! Mana mamat Arthur nih!??!

Susah giler sesangat melampau!

I have few bird day sessions with few different colleague & friends, but this is the BR cum travel gang that is sekepala. If I am not wrong, they are also divers, hardcore cavers, rock climbers & aspire photographer.

Strangely, the only trip we did together were bootcamps; which was what got us started. Hang on guys, I am planning to revive this; it will be the best bootcamp evah!

This was taken via my phone, muka selekeh ok... cause I have to walk from BV2 to Davi's to BR. Kes dera.... berapa # talian NUR?

Travel Event | Tourism Pahang Blogger Event

Recently I was invited by Pahang Tourism to attend a Tourism Pahang Blogger colloquium. Having doing marketing for many years, I was truly excited of this invitation as it gives me a chance to see, hear and learn how this other side think, work and execute. This will give me a balance feel of being the organizer as well as attendees and apply the best of both world in passion - traveling & blogging.

Us #MalaysiaTravelBlogger (Noremila, Yafielda, Jard and Rayyan) depart KL at mid day and arrives Kuantan on time just before the evnt kick-off at 3pm. Dato’ Shafik Fauzan bin Shariff, the Pahang State Minister for Tourism Malaysia welcomes us with an open arm offering Pahang's best hospitality. Fraser’s Hill Development Corporation (Perbadanan Kemajuan Bukit Fraser – PKBF) manages Pahang Tourism activities

Dato’ Shafik enlightens us on how Tourism Pahang is now focusing not only on traditional media but also on Social Media (SoMe) as the current trend where mobility and information are at finger tip come to play. Wanting to be abreast with technology, Pahang Tourism is now opening its door to bloggers as their new target broadcaster. Pahang Tourism sees the need to branch out; and with us from #MalaysiaTravelBlogger they are able to cast a wider net; thus touching directly to end-users - travelers, tourist, adventure-seeker and naturist. Having said that, Dato’ Shafik is humbled to any recommendation by us from #MalaysiaTravelBlogger to further help improve Pahang Tourism. Knowing that bloggers can be their extended SoMe arm with other communication coverage such as twitter, facebook, instagram etc aside from blog.

We were fortunate to be the first few with the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Tourism Pahang new and revamped website shared by the CEO of Secretlab.Media, Mohd Khairul Azizi Mohd Razali. Recognizing the importance of SoMe he consolidated and integrated SoMe buttons - make sharing easy. Tourism Pahang site has definitely improved with its revamped website made by Mohd Khairul Azizi, now with us bloggers; they hope it can improve further. However, the site is still under final construction and will be released soon.

We were delighted to share our experiences participating in media/blogger events and state tourism activities which we hope that Pahang Tourism will be able to emulate thus garnering favourable visibility for tourism in Pahang.

Aside, Tourism Pahang also brought Azwan and Fatin Suhana as a guest speaker to share some blog successes and SoMe ethics. Very enlightening indeed.

Being a state that have the best of both world - land & sea, I am ceratinly looking forward to some snorkeling, diving, hiking, nature walk and caving soon.

Pahang. A trully complete tropical experience.

Dendeng Daging for Iftar - PERFECT

I believe I will have 3 entries on iftar and this is my 2nd todate.

Anyway, Malaysia are know to be the land of food (or at least how I would like to claim! Hahhhaha...), one will never be hungry here in Malaysia, righto? You can feast all day long, there bound to be a restaurant that opens till late at night or just don't ever close. In fact, I found out you can have durian buffet till wee hour in the morning... mak oi; sabor jek ler... Malaysia Boleh!

Last weekend we had iftar at aunt's house in Selayang (once a caterer, still take small family orders). I am abit ngada & manja with 2 aunties in particular and Mak Mok being one of them. She knows my favourite dish and she knows I can't take spicy food (health issue) AND normally tries her best to cater for everyone's favourite dish (giler best kan). We all cousin memang nakal, suka pedekoh dia masak macam-macam... ahhahahah.... sapa suruh masak sedap-sedap; not my fault kan kan kan.... Heeheheheh. SAYANG MAK! Oh! By the way, I call her Mak ie Mom... told cha I am manja.

The iftar was to also celebrate her daughter's birthday, hence the food choice was.... *speechless here* at abundance.... plus we all brought our portion of what we called "potluck" yang kalau tak bawak pun tak pa rasanye.

Rendang (bottom left) - She said "ada rendang baru best" / it's nicer if rendang was served.
Goreng Belado Ayam - Kid's dish... Oh yah! We are Minang, belado is a MUST!
Dendeng Daging - EVERYONE'S favourite, siap ta pau.... sedap tak ingat dunia!
Salad - Her daughter got the recipe from Pantry Magic.... superbly yummeh!

Fried Chicken - Kids kids kids & me! Haahahahahha....
Masak Lemak Tauchu (bottom right) - Pairs well with Dendeng Daging, or what we normally say "memang 'gu' dia lar..."

I don't fancy Malay kuih so I have no idea what the green & white kuih is called (not Seri Muka as it is not pulut at the bottom) and keria is a great favourite to everyone and I have no idea who brought it. I tau makan SAHAJA.

Me? I bought my popular yummiest wet poh-pie-yah for all.

Aside from these, there's beef stew, bubur lambuk, fried popiah, murtabak & kueh teow...

Sigh... Mak nak uni gemuk ke? Hehhehehe... Tak pa sebab sodap!

Air aje 4 jenis, Mak Mak... rajin giler.

This is the birthday girl, the kid is our nephew. Her son? Playing somewhere ler tuh.

OK! We can break our fast now...

This week? Mummy's house (ie my aunt).

RED BANANA of Sri Lanka

First, jangan fikir serong. Haahahahahha....

I don't plan to give you guys a lesson on banana, not to worry. However, this was my first experience seeing and eating a red banana. You heard me alright, RED BANANA. Experienced this during my trip to Sri Lanka. Figure I should must blog about this (minus boring you to death on banana origin, history etc etc etc...).

I have been harping at the driver cum guide on red banana (a must see and eat apparently), he kept delaying it... Until we reached Kandy, thats when I found out that it is a native fruit for Kandy. Rupanyee.... (Yeah, am yet to blog on Kandy, will be doing so in a few days time).

Red banana versus green banana

I also found out that Kandy's weather suits the growth of red banana thus explain why I could not get it in those places I passed by. Hemm...

Konon-konon photoshot canggih lah. Padahal idak pung...

So, little ignorant me decide to buy one to taste and guess what.....

The fruit looks the same as other banana, and tasted the same as other banana's which is to my dissapointment, however some says it's sweeter. Oh well...

After reading here and there, I found out that the redder the banana is, the more carotene and vitamin C level tends to be higher too.

Tah dah..... RED BANANA versus GREEN BANANA versus YELLOW BANANA.
