Immortalize Touch 'n Go Photocard (#MYPassMalaysia)

"What???"
"No.........!!!"
"You're kidding me right?!?!"
"I also want!!!!!" (a typical Manglish demand)

My 'Immortalize Touch 'n Go' Photocard.
And yes, I got mine. Proud.

Hear ye, hear ye!

Do you know that Touch 'n Go provides this service - Touch 'n Go Photocard. Or beautifully and proudly describe as "Capture and immortalize unforgettable moments onto a Touch 'n Go Photocard". That's it, the kiasu in me screamed "I'm sold" and the rest is history.

Little did I know that the breezy outing I participated with MYPass organized by Touch 'n Go and the information I gathered brought me to own my personalized or should I say "immortalized" photocard *grin*.

It all started with MYPass outing...
MYPass outing was fun, taking us around town using the newly launch MYPass card for us to experience the convenient and affordable way of traveling, not to be mistaken; this card not only suitable for foreigner but for locals as well (curious now huh!).

The new MYPass is basically a prepaid cum discount flashcard (a 2-in-1 card) issued by Touch ‘n Go. Aside from the standard TnG-for-toll use that we are familiar with, this new MYPass can be used to pay for public transport, retail stores, F&B, theme parks, attractions etc.

That is not all, it also comes with discount vouchers (alot of them!), all you need to do is present the card along with the voucher to enjoy discounts and other exclusive benefits.

I will share with you what and how we utilise the MYPass card in my next entry. Meanwhile, let me feel proud owning and showing-off my own (and NEW *hint*) "blog-header-Touch 'n Go-card"! Jealous much?

Proud owner of Photocard!

PS : The Photocard is totally different from MYPass, it's one of the service made available by Touch 'n Go. (This is a scheduled post)

#UNESCO | The Perak Man Cave - Gua Gunung Runtuh, Lenggong

"YIPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" I screamed.

The itinerary stated; 4x4 ride, a visit to the Perak Man cave (South-East Asia’s oldest most complete human skeleton) and attending the one year anniversary of Archaeological Heritage of the Lenggong Valley. I'm sold!

My journey begins.

They allowed us to pick our own 4x4, big mistake man! Big mistake!
We got so excited, everyone wanted the most rugged macho looking ones. I lost obviously since I was busy taking the above picture. Pfft.

Don't think the marshall was too happy with my attitude cos I kept winding the screen down and sat on the door to snap pictures. Sorry!

Media s with Tourism Malaysia - Perak.

We start our hike.

As we approach the cave - Gua Gunung Runtuh.

Far. Boulders. Steep. Tired.

The Perak Man cave is locked.

Perak Man is believed to be an important member of his tribe or perhaps a tribe leader, this is judging by the way the Perak Man was buried ie in foetal position with stone tools around him. It is said that he was approximately 157cm tall and died between the age of 40-50 years old some 11,000 years ago.

Worried getting all the info wrong, below is caption form UNESCO site, I have also hyperlinked it.

Perak Man was discovered within Gua Gunung Runtuh cave. Perak Man is South-East Asia’s oldest most complete human skeleton. It is radiocarbon dated to 10,120 BP and identified as Australomelanesoid, a hominid type occupying the western part of the Indonesia archipelago and continental South-East Asia at the end of the Pleistocene and early Holocene.

Within the large karst outcrop of Bukit Kepala Gajah  are 20 caves. Three of these, Gua Gunung Runtuh, Gua Teluk Kelawar and Gua Kajang, have revealed prehistoric burials.

Together these four sites in two clusters sites represent the sequence of significant stages in human history unrivalled in the region.

That's me, all scared of pacat!

Ghost Town - Papan, Perak

A few weeks ago, after our white water rafting trip, we decided to spend another day in Ipoh and Farah suggested that we should stop by Papan on our way back, a dead town near Pusing. Apparently it has an interesting story and is also known as a ghost town, obviously I said ok after googling its background.

I have difficulties in getting infos on Papan as it is such a small town and barely have much to shout about. I couldn't even get the coordinate on my GPS (scary heh), after few rounds (and hours) of asking Mr. Google I reasoned with myself to pin point the coordinate to Papan Chinese Primary School. And it worked!

The data from 2009 indicates that Papan Chinese Primary School have 72 pupils and 11 teachers. Pretty small school heh!

So, how small IS Papan town and why is it known as ghost town (or dead town)?

Back in the olden days, most town in Perak are associated with tin mining activities, same goes for Papan. So the question is, why is it called Papan which literally means wood or plank?

The history says that in 1840, chengal wood; a tropical hardwood were sawn in this small town called Papan. Hence, that's how Papan got its name. However, Papan later became well know for tin mine in the early 20th century, it was described as "the most productive in the State" as well as "probably the richest tin mines in the Malay Peninsula."

Raja Bilah was Papan's village head and he prospered as a revenue-collector, but not as a miner hence he sold his mining operations in 1890. Within 2 years, Kinta became the largest tin producer in Malaya thus Papan loses its fame as the principal mining centre in Kinta.

The Papan Riot and Japanese Occupation contributed to the down fall of this small town, Papan. Now, this town is pretty much dead, with one school, few houses, ruins and an Istana Billah.

Istana Billah is famous for its supernatural activities according the locals here (NO, I didn't check this place out), it is also use for few paranormal documentary and movies. Feel free to google to find out more as I dare not even read..... Hehhehehhe....

How's that to kick start Haloween :)

Cool DESSERT Cafes in Bangkok, Thailand

I'm BAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!

Err.... when did I go missing, the last entry was only yesterday.

Me, full of drama (minah propa much?)!!!

Hahhahahhahah.....

Anyway, been doing a series of serious/mature/educational entries (ceh waaah - duh) that I feel there is a need for me to break the cycle with this yuuuuuummeh-licious entry (please emphasize where necessary) plus it's Eid Adha tomorrow which is a s(r)eason for Malaysian to celebrate (read : eat ie an excuse to indulge as we call them [us]).

As I have been frequenting Bangkok easily more than 10, 15, 20 times maybe (double checking passport stamps), I honestly have ran out of ideas of things to do. Think about it, what else do you want me to cover (aside that the last trip was on work), hence the best possible thing to do is to find a new activity, a BRAND-NEW-CREATIVE activity. So, this is how it started....

One day I was busy scrolling my twitter and I saw a retweet from Diana Teo of Travel and Living Journal of DT on cafes in Bangkok. Hemmm... I decided to give it a peep, it showcases 10 must drop-by dessert cafes in Bangkok. My oh my! All the desserts look so yummeh (while at the same time checking my tummy and doing mental arithmetic of all the fat I will be indulging [and sugar too, and also cholesterol!]) BUT!!!! But but..... to all my friends/family/readers/followers, I OWE it to you guys to at least recce the venue and give an update (drama [eyes rolling]). The least I can do, hahhahahaa.....

PS : I have hyperlinked the cafe's URL or Facebook page for easy reference.

Here goes...

1. After You Dessert Cafe

I tried this cafe in my earlier trip but there was no camera with me then, it is like telling me to 'please eat and put on weight' again... It's a SIGN!

Yummeh to the max, like really MAX! But do take note, the portion is rather huge so do share unless weight is not an issue (benci ok!).

2. Chocolate Lab

Calling chocolate addict! Calling chocolate addict! Where are you???

Cocoa rush hour! All you can eat! Hemm... It took great will power to not stop and eat here as I was staying in this very same hotel. Reminded myself every 5 minutes not to be manipulated by the cocoa smell, the promo, the decor and the sampling. Mean sales girl! Mean! Mean! Hehehehhehe....

3. Mr. Jones' Orphanage

I was cheated, they are no orphanage. Loadsa teddy bear though, like loadsaaaaaa. Their seating was kinda small and narrow but the selections of desserts were great and kinda cute, they have all the funny names and all. Don't believe me? Check my keek below and see for yourself :)

4. Agalico Garden and Tea Room

Agalico need no introduction as I've blog about it HERE as well as how-to-get to this place, read the entry HERE. And not to forget, I keek-ed it as well :)

I have hyperlinked the cafes' URL or Facebook page for easy reference.
