Baker’s Cottage | JAKIM Certified Halal

Well well well…. Little did I know Baker’s Cottage has this fantastic meal offer.
To be honest, I saw it being displayed a couple of times at the outlet near my house whenever I drop by to get some buns for my mom but I have never stop to ask (let alone to buy, mana lah I tau sedap kan).

JAKIM certified halal; Baker’s Cottage is currently popular with its RM12.99 Whole Roasted Chicken Promo (BBQ or Black Pepper) and this is so worth it. It also comes with rice ie Roast Chicken Rice Set with Macau Egg Tart/ Donut and Roast Chicken Rice Set with Macau Egg Tart/ Donut + Soup.

One may wonder is how come they can sell at such a low price, so we decided to ask and truth reveals - apparently their parent company owns the biggest poultry farm in Malaysia. Leong Hup (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is the largest poultry producer is supplying chicken to their subsidiaries – Ayam A1 and The Baker’s Cottage, hence the affordable price point. Its ‘farm-to-plate’ business model paid off big time and has made Baker’s Cottage a household name todate.

With more than 100 outlets all over Malaysia, Baker’s Cottage has proven that consumer-oriented strategy of serving fresh and quality food at value-for-money price is the way to go. Married with great marketing strategy ie. understanding its customer needs as well as targeting semi-urban and secondary townships helped in accelerating the business.

Aside from the popular Roasted Chicken Promo, other promos include cake slice at RM9.90 for 2 slices. What fascinate me as the loaf cake that they are selling of which I feel suitable as an ole-ole when visiting. Don’t you think so too.

Travel Tips | Halal Restaurants in Vientiane, Laos

Failing to first research on my trip resulted to me eating maggi in my hotel room for 3 meals since there wasn't any halal restaurant on the street we have been walking the past 2 days. On the last night, us both thought of being "smart" (Yeah! We do wacky things on and off to avoid boredom) and decided to change our normal route and use the back way (tetiba nak adventurous lah tuh, konon). The main reason for this was that the back way is nearer to the night market that we missed the night before but slightly the road is dark tho, still we braved ourselves and head there. And the journey to this night market was nothing but scary and boring.

1. We bumped into halal mobile roti pisang seller (similar to those in Thailand)
2. We saw 2 pharmacies where Anna bought her sleeping pills for long haul flights
3. Found a beautiful park where the locals enjoy their night taichi and pocho-pocho dance (line dancing tuh)
4. Noticed that their excercise equipment are all well taken care of, not broken nor stolen
5. Street food along the way to the night market (non halal tau)

I guess being a little bit adventurous benefited us (Macam lah adveturous sangat, actually dekat je.... I propa je lebih-lebih).

We decided to fill up out stomach with food before heading to the pasar malam (night market) and guest what we saw? 3 halal restaurant facing the night market! Oh.... kat sini rupanya..... Cis! OkThxBye!

Food | Halal Food in MBK, Bangkok

After spending 3 days in Bangkok eating the halal foodcourt food which consist of yellow rice (really yellow) and chicken which basically their version of nasi ayam or chicken rice, I decided I need to look for THE food court where Elaine took us to. I remembered clearly its on the top floor of Mahboonkrong Mall (MBK).

Knowing the distance from my hotel, I decided to head there on Saturday instead for my lunch before departing back to Malaysia. And I prayed that the food is as yummy as I remembered and if it still is, I plan to blog about it (told myself strictly). That was how badly I wanted a food that I can relate to… (siap rindu nasi lemak, roti canai, satay, mee rebus bagai ok! Sangat kemaruk).

My hunt begin…

Got to MBK and start looking for the food court.

Oh yah, there's 2 foodcourt in MBK and the one I went to is call The FIFTH Food Avenue.

The FIFTH Food Avenue has slightly a different concept despite they use coupons. The steps and T&C are as below.

And there are 4 halal stalls here for you to chose from and I picked Jimbaran that sells Indonesian food.

The option is so crazy and yummeh that I have difficulty in choosing.

Then there's Arabic cuisine for you to choose.

And obviously there's an Indian stall as well :)

This stall was new to me but I noticed that they even have Halal sign on the poultry, so it should be good.

And THIS, is my meal. Yeah! Not very creative but I just don't feel like eating oily or yellowie stuff. Hhahahahaa.... it is super YUMMEH, trust me. Cost me a bomb though.

Cool, they even have a survey form which I rated good and excellent.

Options. Options. Options..... try it if you are in this area.

PS : Tuh je nak cite sebab upset giler ngan makanan for the last 4-5 days.

Food | #Halal Wantan Mee in PJ, #Selangorlicious

Malaysia and food.... sigh....

You know what, the truth is, I don't know what and how to write (Yet again. As usual. Lazy!). Being a Malaysian means you know good food, wait! You know GREAT food. We have Malay, Chinese, India and Nyonya food; AND best if it's the street food type, know what I mean *wink*. Then there's the Western food, Japanese, Korean, Middle Eastern etc etc etc.... the usual stuff. Easily put, you WILL NOT die of hunger in Malaysia (Bab nih memang confirm proud).

When #TourismSelangor held a #SelangorliciousEatOut event a couple of weeks back, I have no excuse not to go right? So go I did. Satisfied I am.

They have this fantastic place in Kelana Jaya (near FAM) that they wanted to introduce; Restoran Jamal Mohamed. I did wonder, what's so great aside from the Char Kuey Keow Aunty Gemuk and Nasi Lemak Kangkung Fariz blogged about. Kiasu-ly I join them (eksen curious dak?)....

Of ALL the food available here, this particular one caught my eye - Wantan Mee!!!! First question asked "#HALAL tak?". "Eh! Sini semua #halal lar..." replied Renuga. That's all I need to know. Story ends here as I feast myself right after. HAHAHHAHAHHA..... (Betul tak tipu, camera pun lupa bawak.... ni semua gambar dari iPhone). Burp! Alhamdulillah.

For those wondering what Wantan/Wanton/Wonton Mee is, below are pics of the food and its preparation. Kinda healthy as no frying nor oil being used.

Adam, mana burger apple nye?

Interesting Things To See In Phnom Penh

I didn't get much opportunities to do any sightseeing on buildings (only them UNESCO sites) or parks or even take a nice walk by the river, however; I did manage to take pics of what I see along the drive, during the visit to the orphanage and etc.

Do bare in mind that they have more to offer and I do hope I have a chance to revisit this beautiful city with it's warm hospitality again....real soon. Meanwhile, hope you enjoy my rides (pics *wink*).

Cambodia Post Office in Phnom Penh.

MUST TAKE NOTE. You can only get stamps from here (couldn't get any from my 3 star hotel), it was tough for me as the post office wasn't part of the places to visit in the itinerary. But since I wanted stamps badly for my postcards, the agent was nice enough to drop by. Lucky me, the building was awesome and I manage to snap a few pics. Yeay!

Cambodia version of tuk-tuk, if you notice; almost every country in Asia have their own version :)
And oh! You can also tell whether the owner/driver is a Muslim or not. Cool huh.

Banana fritters-work in progress at the local village next to the orphanage home that we visited. If you see them, try them. A MUST! YUMMEH baby!

Steam errrr.... a type of shellfish, help!!!! I don't know what is is called. Wait, is it siput sedut or Balitong? Help!!!!!

At the Muslim orphanage. Manage by the tour guide and his family - noble huh.

Saw the election party doing their rounds.

My favourite!!! They sell cakes and dessert and ICE CREAM, more outlet in Siem Reap I think, near the old market. Do visit and give it a try.

The palace (hope I got it right) from afaaaaaaar.

KFC is HALAL, owned by a Malaysian apparently (please double check the fact on the ownership though), sharing some of the menu option available and obviously the price (in USD tuh).

The hotel we stayed have a HALAL restaurant, the owner have another franchise in Siem Reap that you can visit. This was taken during the last night with Duta Malaysia.

Workers hard at work, safety measure?

Another HALAL restaurant near the area.... YUMMEH! Love the sambal belacan. Hhehehehehe

This is the Muslim tour guide and his wife that helped us find the orphanage homes and arrange the logisic/transportation during the Kembara Prihatin. I will share and update his contact as soon as I locate the business card.

But I bet you were wondering where where where is this USS right?!??!? Or perhaps I missed out the “R” behind the USS. After seeing the above pic… you surely know lar - UNIVERSAL STUDIO SINGAPORE.

I’ll keep the suspense and blog about it next week or maybe after my India story mory finitto! MUAHHAHHAAA….. Meanwhile, enjoy the sneak preview - entrance only lar (I did say sneak maah)… And since it’s a “sneak” preview, I added drama in my pics lor, heheheee… what do you think?
