Globetrotter No More?

Have you ever thought of changing your blog name?
Or your profile name?
Your own name? (Kidding.... but seriously?)

I was toying with the idea of changing my header picture and then it hit me, maybe I should just change my blog name too since 'Globetrotter' is so so so so soooo general. Really, try googling it, mine won't be the first flagged up; not even on the first page. Oh wait! Not EVEN on the first 10 page. Sigh...

A few names came up but one which I kinda like was 'Thornberrys'. You must be wondering what, why, who, right? I got the idea from one of my favourite cartoon (still) of which inspired me to travel. The series is about a nomadic family of four and a chimpanzee name Darwin, Eliza's parents is a famous documentary filmmakers that televised wildlife studies and their mode of transportation is a.... Commvee (communications vehicle). The great the great this is that Eliza can talk to animals!

Anyway, after giving it some thought (more like 4-6 months worth of thinking time), I decided to NOT change my blog name, after all; all my followers and friends know me by this name and site. Oh well....

On another note, I would like to wish all my Muslim friends a blessed Eid-Fitr wherever you may be. Maaf Zahir Batin.

While browsing thru my Pinterest yesterday, I stumbled across this Spend, Save, Splurge website which showcase an article on how to pack lightly. It actually guides you on how to think logically, practically and wisely. So, I seek permission to use this visual as I simply think its great (visual impact works best!) and he approved it today. Day 2 | Majestic #Bagan At Sunset - #Myanmar (Part 3)

Sigh.... Bad news. I accidentally deleted my Bagan pics on my iPad Mini where I store most of my Bagan and Chasing Monk photos. I was on a massive depress mode last week (which resulted to me not blogging for whole week).

Thus, you will see pictures of different colours/mode/mood as I extract it from few devices.

Anyway, here are some of the pictures I managed to capture, not that great unfortunately. Double 'sigh....'. Well, let's look at the glass half full shall we... This probably mean I just have to REVISIT Myanmar!!! Muahhahahah..... (Any excuse to travel *wink*). And my NEXT visit will conver the 7 items which I fail to execute and materialise in this trip. It'll be EPIC TRIP, any takers???

It's crucial that you know, I am terrified of height, like really.... REALLY!

This VERTIGO (or is it acrophobia) thingy doesn't help. NOOOOOO!!!!

BUT..... Once you up there (even not the highest point), it is superbly breathtaking! ......... (speechless).

Just sitting down, absorbing good's greatest gift....

#TravelTips :

1. Bring tripod for best photos

2. Carrying tripod up the steep staircase can be a challenge

3. Coming down with the tripod is even worst

4. STEEP. VIRTIGO. ACROPHOBIA.

5. Sunrise comes with awesome hot air balloon scenery against the angelic temple

6. PEOPLE. PEOPLE. PEOPLE.... Yup! That many!

7. Company helps, else it can be a bit of a bore waiting for the sun to rise/set

#Myanmar | In Black & White - #Olympus E-PL3

As some of you might have known, I just purchased a new camera - #Olympus E-PL3. Yeah! As much as I want to own a DSLR, I am way too lazy to carry it when traveling - HEAVY & LAZY (bad combo).

I realised there is some interesting functions in this cutesy under ART mode. So, I figure I should give it a try and have some fun - and I DID! However, I don't think I max it's capability nor I think I took any good (let alone great) shots but I kinda like the way it turned out - OLSKOOL!!!! Just the way I want it to be, a feel of old Myanmar, mebbe.

Things To Do In Terengganu (Part 2) - Terengganu Museum, Crystal Mosque, Traditional Boat Building

Gosh! My November is acting up just like our Malaysia weather thus I am still in my lazy mood. Dian calls it weather PMS. Kejap hujan, kejap berhenti. Hahhahahah.... (only mine is kinda permanent laziness).

So you can kinda guess that this will be a short and simple entry (me creative juice went on a holiday earlier than I expected. Sigh...)

1. Terengganu Museum
HUGE and beautiful architecure.
Did I just say huge? You know what, I'll shall re-emphasize - HUGE. There you go...!
And the architecture.... put the one in KL to shame lar... I mean it's huge! (OK, I think I overdone it here. I shall stop using the 'you-know-what-word').

3. Crystal Mosque at  Islamic Civilization Park

I might be bias but I still prefer The Floating Mosque or Tengku Tengah Zaharah

We got lost while trying to find Pulau Duyong and ended up on the other side of the Crystal Mosque. Well, sometimes getting lost might be benefitting after all (for we got the view we wanted). Hahahahhahah...

4. Traditional Boat Building in Pulau Duyong

At the present time one of the more popular places for traditional boat building methods is at Pulau Duyong, Kuala Terengganu. There, traditional boat-builders continue to produce seaworthy vessels relying entirely on traditional skills and long experience. The same method of construction is in widespread use throughout the region, and can be traced right back to the time when records began. Their methods are particularly well adapted to local requirements and prevailing conditions, using just the tools that are locally available.
