Skywalk - Tamborine Mountain, Gold Coast.

Business travel is not fun travel.

I remember blogging about this few years back. Anyway... I am on a business trip of which we arrived half a day earlier, giving us ample time to venture into new frontier *wink*. We decided to visit Mount Tamborine and do some hiking, well; simple walking actually. Truthfully, it's more like I want to do the tree top walk or Skywalk after hearing my colleague Felicia bragging how fun and interesting it was in Perth and today, my colleague have been con to coming here and experiencing it with me. Muahhahahhahah (evil laugh).

After doing the walk, I am positively 100% sure that this is smaller than the one in Perth (kiranya tak berbaloilah, maka sila layan gambar ajer).

Looks fancy schmancy right, well it is not, very short walk, you can complete it within 45mins or so. Don't get all too excited over this (dahlah bayar mahal).

Thank's about it. Easy peasy right *smile*.

Slope Go-Kart, Lazer Tag & Rock Climbing in Gold Coast, Australia

Finally we had some time-out for physical team building activity here in Gold Coast, after reccee-ing a few locations, we nailed down to this one which provides 3-in-1 activities - Lazer Tag, Indoor Go-Kart & Rock Climbing. They also have a few play-areas for super young kids, I guess it is pretty much a family hang-out area, even the go-kart are not as fast or as racing type as those we have in Malaysia. But one thing I like is their track... continue reading if you want to know more *wink*.

Entrance.

Main activities.

Pricing.

They also cater for corporate event, team building, parties etc. I think, we should have one in Malaysia; seriously. Or maybe I open one, herm.......

Registration counter.

Lounge, cheering or boo-ing area.

The kart!

This was the key attraction for me - the slope, I have arranged and rode on a few go-kart arena around Malaysia but yet to find one with a slope hence this excites me alot. Like really alot.

Small kan.

Even the helmets look cool huh.

Hygiene. Important.

Wondering what are my team doing?

Safety briefing.

Anyway, we did 14 laps and it ends when the first place driver complete the 14th lap. Certificate will be given out and it is base on best lap time. And guess what placing did I get?

Jeng jeng jeng...

I should get 2nd place but since they cound by best lap time, I got 3rd lor. Oh well... I did have fun and yes, I love the slope. One thing I realised, I got slightly dizzy as we have to do 14 laps altogether. Hahhahhahaa....

Upstairs lounge for functions.

Kiddy play area.

Hahahhahha...

Opening time.

Day 4 | Perth's Marapana Wildlife Park

Day 4 or my last day in Perth also known as City of Black Swan. This trip am lucky to have the opportunity to visit yet another wildlife park - Marapana Wildlife Park.

I realised that this park is not as big as Caversham Wildlife Park, and I think I kinda lucky able to cover both in the same year (even though different trip with different group of people). While drafting this entry, I found out that Marapana is closed and will be opening at a new site in 2012 onwards; so my suggestion is that you head directly to Caversham instead. Marapana Wildlife Park will be named as West Coast Wildlife Park at their new location. Let's wait for their shoutout.

I will soon post my May 2005 Perth trip after this. Here you will be able to compare between Caversham and Marapana. Personally I think if you have covered Caversham, it is more then enough.... it's fairly big and have most of Australian animals there.

This will be those short entry of mine as last day tends to be slight boring and I think I've maximised my SD card memory (back then 2GB was a big deal ok!). Hahhahhaah.....

Llama...... I don't need to go to Nepal see one (excuses!).

Deer is a must in any park and it roams in the park freely.... kinda nice feel as you stroll on Marapana land. Cutest animal I feel.

Kissy kiss??!??! No???? Dang!!!!

We also stop over Freementle... I share more pics from my other trips in next entry.

Stuff that we "bump" into...

OK.... Balik dah! MONYOK!

Day 3 | Perth's Pinnacle Desert & Lancelin Sand Dune

My November 2005 Perth trip was the best Australia trip ever as I finally managed to visit the Pinnacle Desert as well as Lancelin Sand Dune. And I did this by conning persuading my boss back then to accompany me here and we have to fork out AUD100-150 (can't remember well) and I can tell you that it's worth EVERY PENNY. I don't mind eating maggie mee the whole of that trip as long as I get to take this tour package.

Yes, I took a tour package as those days I we were not "smart" enough to do a DIY trip or even thought of self-drive. The journey was VERY VERY VERY long & far (really need to emphasize the distance here), and it took us 4 hours or so each way. Worry not, as I said earlier, it's "lumayan" as what my Indonesian relatives would say (lumayan = worthwhile, not expensive); here we took Asia Pacific Touring Company (APT) recommended by the hotel, good recommendation and no regrets.

This was the "bus" we took for the whole journey, it was fully air-conditioned and comfy seat (obviously, just stating the obvious in case I was asked). We stop half way for lunch but I wasn't keen, reason being (1) excitement (2) non-halal (3) excited & (4) excite. There you go, very informative I hope! Hhahahhahha.....

Side view, hemmm... not so much of a bus huh! Well, am not sure how I should refer this vehicle as; but it was great basically.

Our second stop was the beach where/which I seriously forgot it's name, sooo... for those who know where and the name of this beach, please please PLEASE advice me yah.
The sea colour was turquoise blue/green, white sandy beach and pink beach flower everywhere. Talk about tranquility at it's best.... can't beat this! We were here for 30mins roughly and depart to the place that I have been wanting to go since May 2005.

YEAY!!! SUPER YEAY!!!! Pinnacle Desert!

We have to walk quite a distance to reach the inner (centre) desert. Yeah! You probably be wondering what so great about this jotting out stones in the middle of the desert, I seriously have no clue nor answer but what I know is that the feel, scenery and surrounding perfected each other. Strangely I kinda feel happy there, if I can somersault, I probably do it from the bus all the way to the middle of the desert. Haahahahah.... gilos apa!

Rombongan Cik Ro? Hhahahha.. we walk walk walk walk.....

Finally, a pic with Grace ;)
The Pinnacle... Tah dahhh..... I want my long hair baaaaack!
Hey! Where's everyone???

After doing our round at the desert, we then adjourn to Lancelin Sand Dune, at this point I did not know that there are some activities involve, for one simple reason... I was too fixated on Pinnacle Desert that I did not bother to check on other stuff. Since there's not expectation, what I am about to learn and do next was mindblowing (well, to silly me at least... over!!!).

Imagine how I felt, was in stone desert earlier with orange and now white sand dune flooring me. I LOVE PERTH!
I wish I opted for this tour agency, but only knew upon arrival.... aiyaaaa.... sigh...

I just noticed (as I was selecting pics for my blog) that behind this sand dune was actually the SEA. WOWWWW!!!! Must must must revisit Western Australia, I know there's more to offer then this places I visited... perhaps a 10 days road trip? Any takers joiners?
SAND BOARDING!!!!!

WHOOOOOSHHHHH....

You know what is sooooo annoying about this, for me to sand board down the slope, took me probably..... 5 seconds BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT the climb up, took 5 minutes and more.... ARGHHHHHH!!!

Panjat Lily, jangan tak panjat...

OPOCOT!!!

Did it twice, had enough of sand and climb. But now, rethinking; hemmm.... don't mind doing it again :)

JOM!!!!
