Yup! It is that time of the year again!
And this time around I will extra smart, not gonna make the
same mistake again (and again, and again – greed rules usually). Instead of
indulging on every single food, what I did was I sample all the food instead
and once I have identified what I like most – I will focus (read : makan
berulang kali) that particular dish.
My favourite dished at Grand Millenium Ramadan buffet are :
Rendang Tok (beef)
Why : It has a very rich flavour and the beef is really
tender, not that oily nor sweet (I personally find some Rendang Tok can be abit
sweet but this one just nice).
Pan Seared White Fish with Dill Creamy Butter Sauce
Why : It is not to creamy not buttery (despite its name),
light and simple (boleh makan berulang-ulang)
Belado Dendeng (LIVE cooking)
Why : Yes! You can get them to cook Kung Pao or Belado there
and then, all you need to do is is pick the meat/vege of your wish.
Seafood on Ice (prawn and mussel)
Why : I love when I can taste the sweetness of the prawn
pair with thousand island or just squeeze a slice of lemon. Sedap.
Cold Soba
Why : They prepare it in mini bowl, so that the portion is
just nice if you wish to sample and not feel overwhelmed. Perfect during
Ramadhan.
Duku Langsat or perhaps Langsat (I tau maka ajer)
Why : Manis so sodap. Except for the 2 biji abit masam, the
other 10 that I ate tasted perrrrfect. Waima the hotel make no effort in
cooking this, but I believe they pick the right orchard to order the fruit
from. Hehehhehee…
Of course, there are other dishes that you must try as well,
such as Belanga Bakar section where you can select either chicken, pomfret,
beef, eggplant, lady finger, tomato and etc and the chef will assist to cook it
in either one of this style – Assam Pedas, Curry Masala and Kung Pao. Tepuk
dada, tanya selera.
Their Xin Jiang Roasted Lamb is not bad, this is to be eaten
with Nan Bread or Arabic Bread. Glazed with either mint sauce, tomato pickled
or Pepper Sauce – take your pick.
Aside from the above said, there are also Sup Campur Station,
Dessert and Food Counter, Indian Food section and many more. And not to be
forgotten – Bubur Lambuk! After all, it is Ramadan kan.
If you plan to splurge with family or friends one of the
Ramadan days in a hotel, you can consider The Mill, Grand Millenium Hotel. The Ramadan
Buffet package is at RM168++ (adult) and RM84++ (kids), Promo valid from 12
March – 9 April, 2024, from 7pm – 10pm.
